These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through notthatrandom.com.
1. About Random
Random is an independent brand and creative studio based in Amsterdam. We create and publish books, objects and experiences designed with purpose and intention.
These Terms & Conditions apply to consumer purchases made through our online store. Services provided by Random Studio may be subject to separate agreements and conditions.
2. Orders
By placing an order through our website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
After placing an order, you will receive an order confirmation by email. We reserve the right to cancel an order if a product is unavailable, incorrect information has been displayed or we are unable to fulfil the order. In that case, any payment already made will be refunded.
3. Prices & payment
All prices are shown in euros and include VAT where applicable, unless stated otherwise.
Shipping costs and any other additional costs will be shown before you complete your order.
Payment is made through the payment methods available at checkout.
4. Shipping & delivery
Available delivery methods, shipping costs and estimated delivery times are shown during checkout.
We aim to dispatch orders within the timeframe indicated on the relevant product page.
5. Pre-orders
Some Random products may be available for pre-order before publication or production is complete.
The expected shipping or publication date will be stated on the product page. These dates are estimates and may change as part of the production process.
If a significant delay occurs, we will inform you.
6. Returns & right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer purchasing online, you generally have the legal right to withdraw from your purchase without giving a reason.
For physical products, the withdrawal period ends 14 days after receiving your order.
To exercise this right, notify us within the withdrawal period. After notifying us, you have a further 14 days to return the product.
Unless otherwise stated before purchase, the direct cost of returning a product is your responsibility.
You may inspect a product as you would reasonably be able to do in a physical shop. If a product has been used or handled beyond what is necessary to inspect it, you may be responsible for any resulting reduction in value.
7. Refunds
When you validly withdraw from your entire order, we will refund the purchase price and the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option.
Additional costs resulting from your choice of a more expensive delivery method are not refundable.
Refunds will be processed in accordance with applicable consumer law and normally through the same payment method used for the original purchase.
8. Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The statutory right of withdrawal does not apply where an exception under applicable law applies.
This may include personalised products, certain periodicals, products that deteriorate quickly, certain sealed products once opened, event tickets for a specific date and certain digital products.
Where the right of withdrawal does not apply, we will make this clear before purchase.
9. Faulty or damaged products
We want everything we make to arrive as intended.
If your order arrives damaged, defective, incomplete or different from what you ordered, please contact us.
All products are covered by the statutory consumer rights applicable under Dutch and European law.
10. Product information
We make reasonable efforts to describe and photograph our products accurately.
Colours and details may appear slightly different depending on your screen, and handmade, printed or material-based products may show small natural variations.
11. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the content of notthatrandom.com — including texts, photography, illustrations, artwork, designs, publications and graphics — belongs to Random or its respective creators and is protected by intellectual property law.
Content may not be reproduced, distributed, published or commercially used without prior permission.
12. Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by law.
Your mandatory rights as a consumer remain unaffected.
13. Privacy
When you place an order or use our website, we process personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The version applicable to your purchase is the version that was in effect when you placed your order.
