Random is an independent cultural company founded by Igrien and Kalun.

We believe the things we bring into our lives should be considered: thoughtfully conceived, well designed and made with a reason to exist. Rather than creating more for the sake of more, we want to make books, objects and experiences that carry meaning, invite curiosity and are worth keeping.

As second-generation Chinese-Dutch, raised between cultures, we grew up seeing the world from more than one perspective. That experience continues to shape Random. We are interested in bringing together cultures, communities and ideas — not as separate worlds, but as things that can inform and enrich one another.

Random is where these perspectives take physical form, through publishing, products, gatherings and collaborations designed for contemporary life.

For years, we have used our creative practice to build ideas, stories and experiences for others. In 2027, we are taking the next step: bringing that experience into something of our own. Random marks the beginning of a new chapter — building a brand from our own point of view, with the same care, curiosity and attention we have always brought to our work for clients.
