our foundation

The Red Blue Collective is our independent cultural foundation, created from a desire to contribute part of our time and creative practice to the Chinese-Dutch community.

We initiate and support projects around cultural memory, heritage, identity and representation, creating space for stories that have often remained within families or communities to become part of a wider cultural record.

Our first major project, Chinatown, documents the stories of first-generation Chinese people in Amsterdam through oral history and photography. It is the beginning of our ongoing commitment to connecting generations, preserving histories and creating new ways of engaging with Chinese-Dutch culture. The book will be published in November 2026, followed by an art installation in February 2027.

The Red Blue Collective works through publications, art, research, gatherings and collaborations with cultural and community partners.
